19 Teams from across Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland took part in the Under 13 and under 15 Boys Indoor Cricket Super-Series Finals this week, with Babington Community College (West Leicester) being crowned champions in both competitions.

In the Under 13 competition it was a good day for the City with Crown Hills High School (East Leicester) claiming second place. Third place went to Leicester Grammar School (Blaby & Harborough). The Under 15 competiton was one of the tightest tournaments we have seen, with three teams all equal on points for one spot in the final. In the end it was Uppingham Community College (Rutland) who were narrowly beaten into second place in the last over, with Beauchamp Academy (Oadby & Wigston) finishing in third place.

The Super-Series Final saw all ten partnerships take part in the Under 13 competition, with 9 competing in the Under 15 competition. The standard of play across the board was particularly high and all of the athletes were a real credit to their schools and partnerships.

The 'Spirit of the Games' award was awarded to The Market Bosworth School (Hinckley & Bosworth) in the Under 13 competition and Uppingham Community College (Rutland) in the Under 15 competition. Both of these teams displayed the values in which the "School Games" represents - Determination, Honesty, Passion, Respect, Self-Belief and Teamwork and were worthy winners of this award.

The event was supported by Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket, with Leicestershire CCC players Alex Wyatt on hand to inspire the Under 13 boys, as well as umpiring the final between Babington Community College and Crown Hills high School.
